How to use it
Tap the keys (or type on your keyboard) to build a math expression in the display — for example sin(30) + √(16) × 2. The result updates live as you type, and pressing = locks the answer in and saves it to your calculation history. Use AC to clear everything or ⌫ to delete the last character.
The math behind it
This calculator evaluates full mathematical expressions — numbers, the four operators, parentheses, and functions — using a dedicated parser (no risky eval), so 2 + 3 × 4 correctly gives 14, not 20. Trigonometric functions take angles in degrees, just like a handheld calculator: sin(30) = 0.5, cos(60) = 0.5, tan(45) = 1. log is the base-10 logarithm and ln the natural logarithm (base e ≈ 2.71828); both require positive arguments.
Frequently asked questions
Are trigonometric functions calculated in degrees or radians?
Degrees — like a handheld calculator. sin(30) = 0.5, cos(60) = 0.5, tan(45) = 1. If you have an angle in radians, convert it first by multiplying by 180/π.
What is the difference between log and ln?
log is the base-10 logarithm, so log(100) = 2. ln is the natural logarithm with base e ≈ 2.71828, so ln(e) = 1. Both reject zero and negative numbers, which show as an error.
Why does the calculator show Error?
Usually because the expression is unfinished (an open parenthesis, or an operator with nothing after it), because you divided by zero, or because a function received an invalid input such as log(-5). Finish the expression or fix the input and the result reappears.
