Test Score Average Calculator
Average your test scores with the letter grade.
List your test scores and get the average instantly, along with the letter grade it earns on the standard scale. You can paste scores separated by commas or spaces. A quick way to see where you stand across a term without digging out a spreadsheet.
How it's calculated
The scores are added together and divided by how many there are, then mapped to a letter grade (A = 90+, B = 80+, C = 70+, D = 60+).
Frequently asked questions
How is the average of test scores calculated?
Add all your scores together and divide by the number of tests. Three scores of 80, 90, and 100 average to 270 ÷ 3 = 90.
What letter grade does my average earn?
On the standard US scale, 90+ is an A, 80+ a B, 70+ a C, 60+ a D, and below 60 an F. Some schools set their own boundaries, so check your syllabus.
Can I include scores as decimals?
Yes — decimals like 87.5 are accepted and included exactly, which is useful when a test was scored out of an odd total.
